Lisa McGrath

As a child Lisa was fascinated with organic textures, landscapes and animals – recording her observations in journals filled with drawings and paintings. However, the day she discovered clay, dug from the riverside near her home it was love at first touch. The endless possibilities clay provided with respect to process, surface and shape was the perfect way for Lisa to interpret her surroundings.
Excited by the versatility of this medium and its rich history Lisa entered the Ceramics Program at the Alberta College of Art and Design. Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Lisa began her professional career as Supervisor of Ceramics Programming with the Wildflower Arts Centre in Calgary.
Lisa maintains an active studio practise; creating, exhibiting and teaching.
Lisa McGrath was born in London, Ontario, Canada and with her husband, daughter, rabbit and two cats, now makes Calgary Alberta her home.
